Active School Flag / Cluichí
Active School Flag:
The Active School Flag is a non-competitive initiative which seeks to recognise schools that provide quality PE, co-curricular physical activity and sports programmes for their students. Scoil Mhuire was awarded The Active School flag in June 2011 and continues to implement an action plan to improve PE and physical activity in the school and to create a balance between competitive and non competitive activity. Mr. Boyce is currently co-ordinating the whole school’s efforts to renew its Active School flag for 2015. A whole school marathon is being organised. Children are engaging in “Bizzy Breaks” activities on wet days. Children have logged a weekly tracking of their physical activity.

Basketball:
Congratulations to the girls basketball team who won the County Final in June 2016.
Milford Camogie Club
Well done to Milford Camogie Club on winning the All Ireland and to the local Broadford players who were on the team. We were delighted to have them visit the school.
Dromcollogher / Broadford GAA
Well done to the Dromcollogher Broadford Hurling and Football teams who won numerous titles this past year. We had a wonderful time when some members of the team came to visit.

Cycling Pursuits:
The children from 4th, 5th and 6th classes availed of free Cycling Safety Training, courtesy of combined sponsorship by An Taisce, Limerick City and County Council and the Road Safety Authority. Here are some of the pictures:
Handball News:
Congratulations to the U14 girls who came second in the All Ireland Féile Competition in Belfast.

We had a “Jersey Day” on the 12th June 2015 (the same day as Sports Day) and the proceed went towards a Fundraising Night for Daniel John and Clara
